We appreciate your comments I will address them to our executive management committee if you ever have more comments, please do not hesitate to contact me at Best regards, Monica Moreno Social Media Coordinator Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resortĭear KatLisa, It is a pleasure to read your comments, we feel really happy that you have the time to share your recent experience with us. I am glad to read you enjoyed our facilities and the resort in general, we work really hard everyday to provide a first class service and keep all our guests happy. However, in determined hotel guests, stomach illnesses can be manifested while trying to adapt to different food chemistry and weather conditions. It's worth to mention that we also have an MD in house that provides consultation to our guests whenever needed. At the resort, we take very seriously the health of our guests so as we do with food preparation & handling, applying strict processes for hygiene control and being audited by a third company to certify that our processes are innocuous. Otherwise skip it.ĭear albert0b77, Thank you for taking the time to post on Trip Advisor. In summary, if you do not care much about food, go there and you will have a great experience. It kind of shows a degree of contempt for all the other paying customers. On a curious note, one evening I found out that only two restaurants (Portofino and Patio) were open as the resort staff was occupied in catering to a private function. I honestly cannot understand why most of Cruises can offer decent food while comparable size Mexican resorts cannot. On the contrary I am often dubbed as" iron guts" for my ability to digest all kind of food. Ironically I had the same issue in Huatulco (raw seafood that time) and no, I do not have any allergy. The Market Place (buffet) tends to be overloaded with Mexican dishes, is mediocre in general and gave me a nasty case of food poisoning courtesy of an octopus cassarole (this was cooked, not raw sea food!!). Oceana is reasonably good as is the Seaside grill (best lunch choice). The Asian restaurant is mediocre (I did not try the Japanese steakhouse side) and has a tendency of using heavy sauces on traditionally "lean" dishes like sashimi and sushi. I find hard to believe that anyone would praise their food unless we are dealing with people intoxicated by alchoolic consumption. The resort has five restaurants: Portofino (italian) and Patio (mexican) are very poor. When vacationing in Mexico, I am not expecting to find fine dining, but just a level of quality comparable with the average north american restaurant chain (after all over 80% of the guests are north american). I realize that food rating is a very subjective topic and as such I will spend a few words on my criteria. The only area which prevents this resort chain for claiming a true 5 star rating is the quality of the food. The staff is friendly, well trained and very polite. The overall quality of service is excellent. Swimming is only recommended for strong swimmers, in calm days and within 25 meters of the shore where currents are manageable. The ocean is clean (no algae)and full of waves (like most other pacific coast sites). The beach is a bit of a walk from the center of the resort, but is very nice and deserted. I preferred the pool closer to the beach which is quieter and breezier. The pool area was clean and not overcrowded. I stayed in an ocean-view room reasonably closed to the center of activities, adequately equipped and comfortable. Starting with the good, this is a beautiful resort sited in a stunning location. This chain seems to be very consistent for both the good and not so good features. One year ago I wrote a review for the Huatulco Secrets resort and I am tempted to just cut and paste that review.
